9.00x20's Wont Fit on 1969 Loadstar 1600?

OK,I have a 1969 Loadstar 1600 that has 8.25x20's on the
rear.They are on 7" rims.They really arent adequate for the loads
I haul.

I have (4) extra 9.00x20's on 8.5" rims from my 1968 Loadstar
1800.I wanted to put them on my 1600 but when mounted they
are too close and rub on the springs.I need 1" more clearance.

Am I going to have to move all the 9x20's from the 8.5" rims to
the narrow 7" rims for this to work?The location of the springs
has to be different from the 1800 to the 1600 or else the wheel
hub is different.

I've seen 1600's with 9x20's on them before.
