Re: Are Old trucks worth it? What would you do?Posted by Bill on July 20, 2002 at 02:34:22 from (152.163.195.186): In Reply to: Are Old trucks worth it? What would you do? posted by Edwin on June 18, 2002 at 02:51:21:
My 2 cents worth.... Unless you enjoy the blood sweat & time spent restoring an old truck or car....BUY ONE THATS ALREADY DONE. You won't save ANYTHING restoring it yourself. I play with middle 50's Fords. On the job as family is #1, I swallowed my pride, took the money and am wearing a shirt that's suppossed to have a tie. If I did not have something creative to do with my hands I'd go NUTS. There is no doubt in my mind that I've done everything possible labor wise myself. Shopped around for the best price on EVERYTHING & done it as cheaply as possible but I have invested FAR more than I can ever dream of getting out of them. Buy it already done, save yourself years of time & money & let the guy who built it take the financial loss/beating. Unless you like me actually do it for the love of the play with the hands, you'll be further ahead...
