some overthe road trucks used to have the front brakes removed so the weight could be added to the load...very few are done that way now(illegal in some states)...the lengthing of frame will change the turn radius of the truck.the steering axle has the angle of the wheels set for the current wheelbase(ackerman angle).changing wheelbase that much will cause steering angle to be incorrect causing scrubbing of the tires & increasing wear...have you thought of running small I beam(bout 6")down the top of frame rails like a longer bed would have...should work fine & you wouldn't have to cut frame...could even mount an airride tag axle to it if needed...
