I have a 1990 Ford F-350, 7.3 L. Diesel, Automatic. I have a few problems the first is that the engine will not start by turning the key to start position. To try solve this problem I’ve replaced the cylinder lock in the column. After that didn’t work I replaced the starter relay on the side fender, that didn’t work either. The weird thing is that I can turn the key to the run position, and start the engine by using a wire to bypass the ignition. I did this by putting the wire on the positive side of the battery and to the ignition post on the starter relay. Now there is a second problem, I can not get it to shift from park when the engine is running. I have a Chilton Manual for it but it has not helped me yet. Does anyone have any information, a solution to my problems or is it over my head and I need to take it to the shop and have it worked on.

Thanks in Advice
