GMC Engine SwapPosted by Chris Dunlap on July 22, 2006 at 15:39:34 from (205.188.116.200):
I am in the process of swapping a new 350 CI vortec crate engine in my 1984 GMC 6.2 litre diesel van. The engine and transmission have been installed and I am now attaching the accessories. The truck utilizes the hydro-boost system, which I wish to retain. Can anyone provide info regarding the proper components (brackets, pump, hoses) to allow this engine to utilize the hydro-boost system. I have the standard power steering pump and brackets along with the hydro-boost pump and brackets. Are these pumps interchangeable? Could the hydro-boost brackets work if the power steering pump hoses were longer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
