Wauk-Hesselman Oil Engine--Moreland Gasifier??

On the 14th a question was posted re' a Moreland system of burning diesel and maybe even crude in a truck engine. My skimpy records show Moreland used mostly Herc and Cont, but a few Wauks, and might've ran one of Wauk's Hesselman engines.
These were built on earlier designs, and had full time sparkplug ignition and full time oil fuel injection. The engine was started on gas by a priming system (the diesel injection pump apparently on); if adjusted correctly it supposedly started on the 2nd or 3rd turn and gas is fed "until the exhaust is clear and the engine runs evenly". It required special sparkplugs to ignite the diesel(neeeding weekly cleaning and adjusting) and special hot-spark ignition. "Premium diesel fuels are unnecessary...Crude or bunker oils should not be used..." All such engines had "H" (130-HS, VRZH,145-HS etc)(Waukesha Mtr Co, Gen'l Inst's for Waukesha-Hesselman Engines).
Believe these never caught on as the more complicated operating and extra investment simply wasn't worth the cheaper fuel outlay; any comments or memories appreciated.
