I gotta agree with wrenchman... MANY years ago I had a smallblock Chevy, 307 cid in a '70 NOVA that would use a quart of oil every 100-125 miles... took a LONG time for Me to find a mechanic that agreed with Me... but when I did I let Him work on the car.... Chevy used an o-ring for a valve guide stem seal was all and most of My o-rings were broken, brittle and missing. New seals lasted almost 1000 miles before the worn out valve guides tore up the seals again... then back to a quart ever 100 miles. Car ran great... 20 MPH...run 120 MPH... and run 15 second 1/4 miles all day long.... But I still had to stop every 100 miles, add gas and fill with OIL!
