go with the 235, but make sure it has full oil pressure to the rods as some of the early ones didn't... the 216 has the splash oil system with dippers on the rods that dipped oil for lubing the rod bearing..also the rod bearing is a babbit type and not an insert type as the later 235..the 235 is a much better engine... it also has more power...
