64 CHEVY FRAME QUESTION

I TOOK MY BED OFF MY 64 AND THERE IS I CROSS BEAM ON THE TOP BEHIND THE CAB. I WAS WONDERING IF ITS SUPPOSE TO COME OFF OR IS IT FACTORY AND SUPPOSE TO BE ON IT? IT LOOKS TO BE RIBETED ON THERE. THANKS ALOT
