As far as the rear ends being the same, they could be. I think Ford only used Rockwell, Eaton and Dana rear ends around that time.I think you should find out what rear ends each truck has first. Let's say, the F600 has a single speed Rockwell H-172 with a 5.83 ratio, and the F700 has a 2-speed Eaton 23221 with 6.67/9.08 ratio. Well, as you can see. You'll be able to go a whole lot slower with the Eaton. The 5-speed would have a granny gear for 1st. and a 1 to 1 ratio in 5th (not overdrive). You would change speedometer cables,add corrective adapter assembly plus all the wiring. Install clutch peddle plus linkage, change flywheel,bellhousing, harmonic balancer. And who knows what elce.
