1964 chevy fuel tank

My son and I are restoring a 1964 Chevy 1/2 ton pu. Straight six with 3 on the tree. I'm cocerned about the fuel tank behind the seat. This was common practice back then. What suggestions do you guys have for moving a tank to the fender well or between the frame??? Also what newer year rims woul fit this truck.?? We wanted something like a 4wd rally rim. It has the 6 lug wheels. Thanks Doug
