My ole 47 1/2 Ton has the 216 oil splash motor. I have read the 235 is the best one to use as a replacement motor, just about a bolt in operation. My son has a late 80's Chv. 1/2 Ton with a in-line six that I think he said was a 250 c.u.(data is marked in liters). My winter project will be a new motor for ole yeller and was thinking it might be easer to find a motor form the late 80s like that 250 than it will a older 235. Am I on track here or off base? I've driven his little truck and that 250 pulls very strong for a six. Does it have much more HP than the 235 would have? And have any of you Chv. guys made this type of swap? Thanks for any help.
