If you are asking about a PICKUP... if it has AC, it will have vacuum controls, if no AC, it's all mechanical, with cables. If your's HAS vacuum controls, often the mice eat the plastic vacuum line that comes from under the hood, inside, to the controls. Also, the vacuum valve on the controls can fail, as well as the lines and diaphragms that actually actuate the air doors. Also, there is a little plastic part, screwed to one of the air doors that commonly breaks, screwing up bi-level-heat/defrost. This part is behind an air duct which is located behind the glove box.
