Had similar situation recently and finally took an inductive timing light and checked for impulse at each spark plug. 2 wires had intermittent fire. Replaced the wires and WA-LA!- back on the road again. No way to tell visually about the wires, they looked great. - Had me stumped for awhile! Hope it helps - Greasy Fingers.
