I'm going to rebuild my 1974 C-30 Chevs 454 engine as its
tired. What can I do to get a little better fuel mileage?

I noticed it only had 8.25 compression ratio from the factory and
was only rated at 230 horses..Should I Leave it stock or raise it
to 9 to 1 compression ratio?

How about a cam change,different carb,headers,distributor,etc?

I'm sure the main thing to do is to keep your foot out of it and
drive sensibly.
