Had one for 9 years. At that period of time the camshafts were ground flat, and high revs on cold oil would take out a cam. Always used valvoline 10w30. No problem other than the cam. New cam got rid of the dead throttle repsonse from 1/3 to 1/2 throttle. 10/40 has a boat load of viscosity modifier which does not last real well.
