That's where the 6-groove puller comes in. Maybe somebody swapped in an older engine, with a V-belt drive setup. If you can buy the basic kit (bearings and brushes) PLUS the regulator AND diodes/rectifiers for LESS than 1/2 of a rebuilt, you are either getting a GOOD deal on the parts, or getting SCREWED on the rebuilt! I'm nor sure what alternator you have... if it's the older style, the rectifiers have to be soldered in place. Are you prepared to do that? On the newer units, the wires plug onto the rectifier UNLESS someone was in there before, and soldered the connections. I rebuild alternators, and hate to discourage you, but this one may be a "handfull" for someone who hsd not worked with alternators before.
