1929 Truck cab

I believe I have a 1929 (?) Chevy Truck that I would like to restore or upgrade the running gear. My question is what can I do with the cab? Lots of wood and many nails. Where can I get either get new wood or a pattern for the wood to replace? Or should I make something out of steel? Then how do I address the areas where the cab is currently nailed to this wood frame work.
I bet this is just the start of my questions.
