Probably is a fusible link or am I thinking about fords? If so, it might look like a different colored wire with nice little splice connectors. You can check for power with a needle point test light. Should light on both sides of fusible. Follow batt cable positive and look for these. Might be on fender side or around starter solenoid. Remember if hot on both sides, OK.
