Ok, this is getting more complicated, after looking at the truck I was interested in, I realize it is a overhead valve.

So, is there an easy way to verify what the engine is, and how hard might it be to switch back, since its a 48 COE Ford, I don't think the engine is original, and its hard to tell if its a project that never was completed?

Tranny seems good and original.

I'm new to old trucks, but have always loved em, and like them to stay old not modified.
