Donor F350 for my 1937 Ford 1.5 Ton

Posted by JoeRags on February 07, 2007 at 12:18:42 from (192.249.47.11):

I have come across a local 1986 F-350 dual rear wheel, non 4x4 truck with a 460 and a 4 spd. CHEAP. I believe I am going to pick this up to use as a donor for my 1937 Ford 1.5 Ton dually. I need modern running gear so I can actually drive the truck when I'm done, so I need the front suspension, entire rear end/suspension, and steering.

My question is this... Can I narrow the front end from the ford to make it fit in my fenders? Does the '86 F-350 have a single transverse spring up front?

I'll be unloading the 460 and tranny as I have a line on a Detroit 453 diesel and automatic Allison tranny. I'm hoping the running gear from this F-350 will work for me.

Any opinions, comments?

Thanks!
