Is it worth it?

I just put a bid in on a 78 Chevy 4x4, 3/4T, 4spd, P/S, P/B AM radio and that's about it.
Oh yeah it got 11917 miles on it. It was a grass unit for a small rural fire department. The guy said it hasn't had an easy life, but that it was maintained well a few scratches no rust and straight. I offered 2500. Too much?
