No I did not lift the body as this was 72 and the one that I had had very little rust problems but it was a very well used truck. At first thought I would try to lift at the firewall/door hinge area and at the rear wheel wells but only after the front fenders hood and grill area had been removed. This depends alot on the overall strength in the cab to bed area.If the cab to bed area is suspect of being weak I would support it with some rigid members from front to rear just inside the frame rails. As I remember there were only two body modifications that I did. One was to replace the transmission hump with the bolt in type (common on3/4 ton and larger)to accomodate the 4 speed but makes trans. work much easier ( your body is already molded for this) Also if you wish to use a later model step bumper a narrow strip under the tail gate had to be removed. My tailgate had rust in the hinge area but I repaired this by placing 3/4 steel tubing inside the lower part of the gate.As memory serves me I spent more time on the tailgate than the rest of the body.I sorta wonder where that truck is today.Hey you brought back some memories so THANKS and if I can be of any help just holler.
