I crawled under that thing yesterday to check the drive line out again and found a little side to side play on the output shaft(actually the emer. brake drum) as I was not able to see the shaft per say. I had this happen on my '59 PU! All my u-joints are good best I can tell. Right now I am thinking the nut on the end of output shaft has backed off a little so I am going to take the drive shaft off and check this. I will also check the carrier bearing and u-joints too as I will have it all unbolted. For the record, I did change the oil in the tranny and replaced with new 85-140 gear oil.
