What years did GMC trucks have a vacuum Controled two speed rears?
I was just given one for use on my Doodle bug.
It has "GMC" cast into the rear pumkin.
The axle housing has rectanglular tappered tubes.
It looks to have had cable operated parking brakes.
The brake drumes are about 16 or 17" in diameter.
Where can I find the specs for this?
What gear ratios and what years were these axles in production?
What was the load capacity for the axle with 10.00 X 20" tires and wheel?
Are there any good books for restoring the trucks this axle would have came on, with parts break down.
Regards,
GG
