WE just rebuilt our 360 which was in a one ton ford truck. We found that here is no wat to tell the difference externally. The block is the same, as are the heads. The crank is the only diference. The stroke is just a little bit longer for a 390. Just a useful bit of info.

The block used for 360, and 390 are the same as the blocks use for 330,360,361,390,391,428,429.
The only difference was ,crank,heads,cam,rods.
I always figured this was because ford was cheap, and didnt want to make another casting.

I'm fairly sure that this info is correct. If you find out differently please write me back.
