you don't need a wiring diagram for finding a short circuit..remove the negative battery cable and put a 12 volt test light between removed cable and the terminal..if you have a short, the test light will be on...disconnect different wires and stuff until light goes off,when light goes off, you have found the problem...start with unplugging voltage regulator and remove wires from alternator as these are common problem areas.. also make sure no lights are on, such as dome, glove compartment and any relays that might be sticking.. also look for anything that somebody has added to the truck that is not stock..
