First thing to do is find a stretch of black top or concrete where you can make a large puddle of water. Line your truck up where you can drive straight through the puddle with the front wheels straight ahead. There should be only two tracks from your wet tires, if there are four then the frame of your truck frame is bent. This is called dog tracking it happens when a frame has been straightend on a rack. If this is the case sale the truck to the first person whom offers you the same amount you gave for it.
The other options would be a gap (worn teeth) in the steering gear box, this is easily checked. Pop your hood, grab the steering column and turn it if you can twist it back and forth very far, this may be your problem. Get yourself a remaned gear box from a parts store not the junk yard as you'll probly get one with the same problem.
The other possible problems all have to do with allignment and suspension and are most accurately diagnosed by a tire shop. This list includes but is not limited to camber, toe in, tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints etc. If you want to go through all this yourself you could easily spend 200 bones and 8 hours of your life. If you don't mind the work you can always get the tire shop to tell you whats wrong with it, and then get the stuff to fix it your self.
Good luck man...
