Use the 134. Sell the R-12 on Ebay and pay for a few extra cans of 134. Use a can of sealer and a large can of oil charge and you'll be fine. r-12 oil does not get picked up by 134 - Evidently compressors end up running dry with r-134 conversions done without changing oil. So I was told by the guy who just converted my truck. Might also look into the possibility that the old hoses should be replaced by newer "barrier hose" altho the sealer might take care of that for you.
