Is the frame 1 thickness of channel? Mark both sides at the same spot outside area being cut so the marks won't be lost. Measure the amount taking out on a 45 degree angle. cut the frame. marry the two pieces together using straight edges. Make sure your measurements are equal on both sides. Weld together using short runs at a time to keep distortion and heating to a minimum. grind off smooth avoiding overheating. Then get driveshaft cut to length. If hauling with it I would fishplate from under back of cab to front spring hangers. Bolt through both pieces to support the stresses As I said before it is easier to cut in front of carrier bearing. If any questions just ask.I did my first one at 16, used it for 20 years, no problems. Did 20 trucks, no problems. Most people are afraid to start, Don't be.Go for it....James
