69 GMCPosted by Trevor on August 26, 2002 at 13:24:24 from (192.75.238.202): I just bought a 69 GMC on the weekend for $100. It has a 350 in it and a coil sping rear suspension, the fender badge says GMC 920. That is where my question comes in. Being that my family have been Ford people forever I know very little about GMs. The truck I bought has very rusty supports that run from the rear axle to the frame just behind the cab. My father says that I should just rip out the coil suspension and mount a leaf suspension. He says that the coil suspensions sway really bad when loaded. Is this true, should I repair or replace the coil suspension? I do plan on using it to tow tractors and stuff so I will be loading it. Also any info that you can give me about a 69 GMC 920 would be great. (i.e. inherant problems, good features) Thanks
