That is not the original badge. In '69 they were 1500 2500 and 3500. (1/2 ton, 3/4 on, and one ton)
The coil rear is fine for towiong, just some people are scared of them. If you look at the real long trailing arms on there, that is what makes this set up so cool. I will say however, if the bushings are bad on that rear set up, it WILL tow very poorly.
As for leaf verses coil, if you are going to overload it, the coils are better. They will stack up on each other and act as a suspention lock out. It will only sag that much. However, the leaf springs are better up to there limit, then they start to break.
And for $100, if it moves under it's own power, you got a screaming deal.
I would like to invite you to a huge message board with over 5000 members. We have a message board, a parts poard, a general discussion board, and then all the same for a bunch of other year trucks. All of us on there try everything we can to answer questions, and pretty much everyone helps out everyone else. Free (little) parts are the norm, along with screaming deals on stuff. There has even been a truck purchased for a member, and complete engines donated to people.
You need to register to participate, but it is all free. (you can view it with out signing up)
