wondering if you ever found your knock ? I have a 1985 F150 300 six since it was new.it had a knock thatstarted about when two years old.only a few knocks when you started engine then went away.turned out to be a busted head bolt that apparently jumped around at start up. found broken bolt when oil started leaking from head gasket.replaced gasket and head bolt and never knocked again.
