79 jeepPosted by Mike in Ohio on June 18, 2007 at 17:29:41 from (24.93.247.126):
The transmission in dads 79 jeep cherokee came unglued pretty badly saturday night. This is our 1st jeep and is used mainly as a winter beater and for towing his old tractors. It seems to have broken the case when it let go. Most of the junk yards around here don't have anything that old so I'm wondering what years all used the same trans, it is an automatic with the 360 and the quadratrac 4wd. does anybody know of a good place to get a rebuilt or useable trans? Preferably close to NE Ohio. Thanks alot, Mike
