Posted by Peter Ross on July 03, 2007 at 09:37:35 from (58.169.196.146):

I have a reco engine block bored 40 thou.over
I beleive that the 318 polysphere pistons had indents for valves, but this block has flat top pistons, no valve indent cutouts.
Will the valves foul or is there sufficient space if lift is standard.
Seems a pity to pull a reconditioned block and try to find 40 thou overbore piston in Australia. The guy of course may have made a mistake thinking Valiant [LA Block] pistons would be OK.
Thanks
Peter
