'51 Chevy pickup fuel gauge problem

[ Expand ] [ View Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Return to Forum ]

Posted by Grose on July 17, 2007 at 13:43:46 from (206.78.255.34):

I just installed a new (original reproduction) fuel gauge and a brand
new sending unit in my truck. Everything is 12 volt. My problem is
that when I turn on the ignition, the fuel needle "zaps" to the south
(bottom side) of the gauge like I put a magnet to it. I've run a new
wire from the sending unit, switched wires and tried a number of
other things. Can anybody help me?

Thanks,

Gary Rose
