As Dan said, the Republics were built in Alma, MI, beginning about 1913, and for a period in the late teens were reportedly the largest truck m'f'r, altho sales fell off in the 20's. They merged with part of American-LaFrance in 29, becoming La France-Republic, a subsidiary of American La France, but were sold in 31 to Sterling, which reportedly produced small trucks badged LaFranc-Republic till 42. (All from Albert Mroz"s "Illus Ency'pedia of American Trks and Comm'l Vehicles", a really neat book every old-truck hobbyist should try to get).
Just guessing from a few pix in that and Tad Burness' book, it looks like a late 20's. Nice pic.
