Yep , get # 1 on compression tdc and align the rotor and reluctor/pickup coil in the distributor. You may have to move it 1 cog to get the vac advance in a range where you can adjust the timing. Remember the distributor shaft is going to rotate as the spiral gear slides in place. If the dist will not drop fully in place, you may need to turn the crank a bit while applying a little down pressure to the dist to get the hex oil pump drive rod into the hex socket in the dist shaft.
