1963 Chevy C10- bench seat restoration vs. replace

The bench seat in my stepside is worn down to the bare
springs. I've seen reupholstery kits for sale that would look
okay, but the condition of the springs makes me wonder if it
would be worth the trouble.

My other idea is to find something newer at a salvage yard that
could be made to fit with a little welding or some new bolt holes.
I'm thinking that long as the length was right, this could come
from any vehicle, any year.

I'd like to hear from any Chevy/GMC owners ('62-'66) who have
had experience with this - either with DIY reupholstry or
swapping seats.

Any thoughts? thanks.
