Hey man, a stock 351 W 4barrel has about180 hp at the flywheel, of course that' what the book says with all the hippy tree hugger junk on it.With a little timing and a small cam, and the removal of all that junk you can easily see around 225hp. The most bang for the buck is gears.Ford and all the other manufacturers went nuts from around the mid 70's on up and used to high of gears to do anything. They were supposed to make them get better mpgs, but only on the HWY did they succeed.I have actually gotten better mpgs from goin to a lower gear rato. Not too low, but a good gear ratio is around 3:25 to 3:55. There is a web site called network 54 Windsor small block forum. I don't know the exact address right off the top of my head, but if you do a search you can find it.There are some real smart guys on there!
