Thanks for the info. According to the serial # plate, the truck had a 270 inline 6. I think its the origanal motor. I doesn't look like your average 6 banger though. I have owned a 235 and have seen many other sizes from different cars and pick-ups, and this
one looks very different. The valve cover is wider for one thing. I think it may be like an industrial motor or something to that effect. I was told the 6 bangers were made by GMC back then and were better engines than the chevy's. The truck is pretty big, it has a GVRW of 18000, or 30000 for combonation vehicle. If anyone else has any input, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot.
