Ignition Timing for 1968 GMC

My friend has a 1968 GMC 1/2-ton, regular-cab, long-bed pickup with a 307 V8 and (I think) a TH350 automatic. The engine is the original, but it now has an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor headers with glasspack mufflers, and a stock GM HEI distributor. Somehow the hold-down bolt for the distributor came loose and now the timing is off. We have no idea what the factory timing was, any decals that were on the truck were removed when it was sanded for repainting years ago. Not sure if this engine was originally a 2 or 4 barrel Quadrajet or ??. The Edelbrock carb is brand new, the manifold is painted orange but the entire engine was repainted when it was rebuilt so no clue if it's a "factory" intake or not.

Can anyone advise what would be a correct ignition timing for this engine ?? It currently runs terrible, so any advice is appreciated.
