66 International 190 Fire Truck...wiring/carb helpPosted by Rick on October 12, 2007 at 20:46:47 from (72.72.229.146): I'm trying to save a 1966 International Harvester 190 fire truck that was left sitting in a field for years. Problem is while it was sitting there some rats or squirrels had a feast on the wires and the Holley 852-FFG carb with no air cleaner on it got all blocked up. All terminals on the ignition switch had positive voltage even with the key off so I removed it and the switch itself tested okay. I ran a wire from the BAT terminal of the switch down to the BAT terminal of the starter and ran a wire from the IGN terminal to the coil and the electric fuel pump and ran a wire from START down to the starter solenoid and grounded the other side of that. It now turns over free and easy and has plenty of spark, it just wont start so....... I dumped a little gas down the carb and it tryed to start. I took the carb off and tryed to clean up what I could get to with some carb cleaner and a brush hoping it would go but still no luck. I loosened the fuel line going into the carb and its getting gas up to it, it just isnt goin through. Does anyone know where I could find a wiring diagram that would help get it up and running and where I might find a rebuild kit or some ideas on cleaning the carb ??? Im not sure if my temporary wiring setup's gonna get it goin cause some of what I did find shows the side of the starter solenoid I have grounded as going to one side of the coil. If I can save it it'll probably end up looking like this old Mack http://auctionpix.us/Rlang198/pics/Truck_1.jpg http://auctionpix.us/Rlang198/pics/Truck_3.jpg Thanks for any help Rick
