Given that the Jeep is a '63 you may or not may not have much luck finding a VIN plate on this one. 1963 was right at the time that VIN's were coming into application and use. A vast majority of serial numbers on registrations prior to VIN's were the serial number of the engine. If the jeep has the original engine you are in luck. If not you are very much in the dark. See if the truck has been registered anytime prior to seeing it. If so there has to be a recognized VIN number on the current title. For a purchase, this is all you will need.
