Information on a 1942 Ford Sterling

A friend of mine asked me to see where he could get information on a Ford Sterling truck he has rebuilt.
It is a 1942 vintage, it is stamped on the left dumb iron 145HC627 A4281 But more interestingly since its original color was US army, is a number painted under the hood in 3 inch letters and still preserved. U.S.A.W. 8013887.
If you could tell me anything about this or where I could get information, I would be much appreciated.
