This is a problem with the 460 had a 88 f350 with a 460 that did that and found that the computer was most of the problem as it was leaning the engine out to much and getting the exhust to hot , also if you find some real thick flat washers and use a grade eight bolt and toqure them hot it will also help , the washers that i used were 3/16 th thick . I use to be a master tech for ford and headed up a drag club for the dealer and am vary knolagable on them , and there is a littel knowen TSB on the 460 and exhust bolt brakage from way back in the 70 's that if you can not remove them with out brakeage then pull the head and heat the bolt bosses to 525 degrees and hand wrench them and if they bind stop and try to go back in then out if that don't work reheat , some dumb engineer thought that it would be neat to use stainless steel bolts there and never thought that they would do this . Ford said that they would fix my old truck back in 92 for free and they would replace all the bolts on the head on mine i was tryen to be a nice guy and told the mechanic that was working on mine about the TSB and he told me that he could do this with out removing the heads , well when all was said and done Ford had to buy me two new heads because he broke every bolt off in the head and then tryed to drill them out sorta did not work chuckel chuckel after that he use to call me when he ran into a problem with 460 and since then he and i have become good freinds.
