check out several things, at idle, when you goose the throttle by hand does it spit then or drop in rpm, then pick up strong? check the accelerator pump in the carb, and also the vacuum advance on the distributor, make sure that is working, and has good steady vacuum to it, off the manifold not the carb, make sure you have at least 4 to 7 lbs of pressure from the fuel pump, check the float level in the carb if thats too low it may be running out of gas at higher rpm, also check your timing and make sure thats corect, post back with results
