750X17 tires for 1949 Chevy 3800 one ton panel truPosted by Doug Mayer on January 08, 2008 at 15:00:05 from (75.91.62.146): My tire supplier is running out of 750X17 tires. He can not get flaps anymore and the tubes are scarce. Handling the 8 lug split rims are dangerous and, because of insurance, he doesn’t want to deal with them anymore even though he uses a cage when he inflates them. Going to 16” tubeless tires seems to be the solution and may help over come the top heaviness of panel trucks. We checked out the 16” rims and it looks like they will fit. But what about the mounting of my moon hub caps? I’m trying to keep my truck original. SUBLION Doug Mayer
