1975 Heavy HalfPosted by Jasone on September 27, 2002 at 06:15:00 from (12.33.196.233):
Have a 350 engine question. I just installed a factory rebuilt quadrajet to replace the O.E. one. Old carb had a float problem and I couldn't fix it. I checked oil before firing it up and noticed gasoline in the oil. I added some oil and fired the truck to see if it would actually start with the new carb. It did, and I let it run for about 2 minutes. I shut it down and checked oil again and "seems" as though I have even more gas in the oil!! Are my rings that bad? Is the fuel pump diaphram leaking? A stuck valve? I think I am going to drain pan and put new oil in and see if I get more gas in the pan before anything, cause I think that the gas origanally got there from the stuck float valve on old carb. - but I am open to suggestions. Thanks.....
