1969-72 Blazer/pickup electricial????

I've got a 69 blazer I put a gauge set in it (aftermarket) since then if the dimmer is set to all the way bright, the dash lights shut off and the blinker lights come on and stay The gas gauge also goes to empty ?? I tried to put a new headlight switch in it but had no results any answers
